(Des Moines) More Iowans can qualify for childcare assistance under a bill signed into law last week. It lets Iowans who make 160 percent of the federal poverty limit or less qualify. That’s an annual income of 48-thousand dollars for a family of four. The Legislative Services Agency says the new law will increase enrollment by nearly 3-thousand kids. Families will need to work at least 32 hours a week to qualify for the program.
