(Harlan) The Norman D. Stamp Aquatic Center in Harlan is opening on May 28. At last week’s City Council meeting, Harlan City Administrator Gene Gettys said the pool is full of water, and 16 to 17 lifeguards attended guard training.
Gettys says the city adjusted the compensation one year ago, with a slight bump in base to $8.50, setting in tiers with an additional 50 cents per hour and an additional $1.00 per hour once those thresholds are met.
The pool will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday through Friday and noon to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Season passes and swim lessons can be selected and purchased through the City of Harlan’s website, www.cityofharlan.com.
