(Audubon) Construction delays have impacted the timetable for road projects in Audubon County.
Audubon County Supervisor’s Chairman Doug Sorensen says the initial plan was to finish M66 before moving on to F32, but things have changed. “Henningsen’s has had some problems with their asphalt plant. It’s a new plant and they had some issues getting it into service. Apparently that has been resolved and they have asphalt going down. The plan was to get that functionally complete and open that up to through traffic and then we could close down F32.”
Instead of being able to finalize one project and move onto the next, they’ll have to be working on each site simultaneously.
“They’ve been delayed 2-3 weeks and have subcontractors waiting. They asked if it would be okay if they run a pilot car on M66 and get that somewhat open and then they can close down F32 and get started on it.”
Seven million dollars in improvements are being made with a four mile stretch on M66 along with a seven and half mile portion of F32.
