(Cass Co) The Cass County Board of Supervisors this morning approved the sale of county owned farmland. The approval was just a formality to close out the sale of the land that was sold at auction in January. The property consisted of 117.73 acres of cropland and 34.43 acres of pasture land.

Supervisor Wendy Richter cast the lone nay vote on approving the sale of the county owned farmland. It was noted that three public hearings were held on this sale last fall with no opposition at the time.
In other action, the Supervisors rescinded a previous resolution selecting the Atlantic News Telegraph as the sole official newspaper for the county and approved a resolution naming Atlantic News Telegraph, Anita Tribune and Griswold American as the official newspapers in order to reach the maximum number of constituents.
The Supervisors then set a public hearing on the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Budget Amendments for Tuesday, June 13. They also approved extending the current health insurance out-of-pocket max and deductible through December 31st, with Supervisor Mark O’Brien casting the lone nay vote.
