(Mount Pleasant, IA) — Iowa Wesleyan University graduated its final class over the weekend. The university will close at the end of this month. They’ve helped students transfer through agreements with William Penn University, Upper Iowa University, University of Dubuque, and Culver-Stocken College. Iowa Wesleyan owes 26-million dollars to the USDA. The school made the decision to close after Governor Reynolds denied a request for 12-million dollars in American Rescue Plan Act funding to help pay the debt. The university opened in 1842.
