(Des Moines, IA) — Warm weather this week just may inspire some kayaking in Iowa. The water, however, may still be dangerously cold. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says if the water temp is below 60-degrees, you’ll be at risk for hypothermia if you don’t take certain precautions. The DNR says in addition to lakes and ponds, there are about 18-thousand miles of navigable streams for paddlers to explore.
