(Shelby Co) The Shelby County Board of Supervisors this past week approved a resolution appointing Deputy County Officials for the 2023 calendar year.
According to the meeting minutes, Sheriff Neil Gross’ deputies include Brandon Gosch, Blake Patten, Kasey Brosamle and Ray Ohl.
The Supervisors also approved a new proposal from Cost Advisory Services for their yearly calculations and submissions to the DHHS for reimbursement of Shelby County administrative costs. The current cost is $4,125 per year. Shelby County looks to recoup over $20,000 next fiscal year for their services. The new proposed yearly fee is $4,450 per year.
The Board also discussed the Juvenile Probation office at the Shelby County Annex. Shelby County Partners with Cass, Audubon, and Harrison Counties in paying for this office space. The $1,350 per month rent is split between the four Counties based on population. The lease amount has not increased since at least 2014. The Supervisors agreed to increasing the rent to $1,850 per month starting in fiscal year 2024 and in fiscal years 2025 and 2026 the monthly cost of 2,350, using a three-year contract. The Auditors office will create the contract and have Shelby County Attorney Marcus Gross approve it before consideration of final approval by the Board of Supervisors.
