(Shelby Co) Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident in Shelby County early this (Saturday) morning.
The Iowa State Patrol says 48-year-old Jesse Lee Archibald, of Elk Horn, was driving a 1999 Chevy C2500 southbound on Highway 173 at approximately 2:24 a.m. 22-year-old Gracee Dora Rose Deakins, of Kimballton, was driving a 2011 Ford Fusion northbound. Archibald crossed the center line of the roadway and struck Deakins’ vehicle head-on.
Archibald and Deakins both suffered serious injuries and were transported to Myrtue Medical Center by Elk Horn Rescue.
The crash is under investigation.
