(Council Bluffs) The State rest its’ case on Thursday morning in the State vs Alison Dorsey Trial held in Pottawattamie County District Court for the death of two-month old Luka Hodges while in her care on October 7, 2019.
Dr. Kelly Kruse, Pathologist with the State Medical Examiners Office in Ankeny took the stand for the Prosecution on Thursday morning. Dr. Kruse diagnoses, and characterizes diseases, analyzes biopsied tissues, or body fluids, and interprets medical tests, including tests conducted by other specialists.
Dr. Kruse conducted the autopsy on Luka Hodges on October 11, 2019. Dr. Kruse reported subdural hemorrhaging around the brain and within the entire skull cavity.
When the autopsy was complete, Dr. Kruse reported the cause of death as undetermined.
During cross-examination, defense attorney David Munger asked Dr. Kruse if her cause of death remained the same as it did, on October 2019, October of 2021, and today.
The Prosecution rest its’ case this morning. The defense will call its’ first witness to the stand at 1:00 p.m.
