(Council Bluffs) Testimony continued today (Wednesday) in the State vs. Alison Dorsey Trial held in Pottawattamie County District Court in Council Bluffs. Dorsey is on trial for the death of an infant while at her private daycare in Massena on October 7, 2019.
The State called three medical doctors to the stand today. Prosecuting Attorney Monty Platz’s first witness was Dr. Sandra Allbery, a Pediatric Radiologist at Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha. Two-month-old Luka Hodges was initially taken to the Cass County Memorial Hospital and later transferred to Children’s Hospital in what she described as an acutely ill condition. Allbery reviewed the CT scan from CCMH and explained her findings. Her testimony will be posted and aired on Thursday morning news.
The State also called Dr. Kelly Kadlec, Pediatric ICU Physician at Children’s in Omaha. Dr. Kadlec examined Luka upon his arrival on that October morning. His testimony will be available online on Thursday.
The State’s final witness for the day was Dr. Suzanne Haney, a Child Abuse Pediatrician at Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha. Her testimony will be posted online along with the cross-examination from the defense on Thursday morning.
Thursday’s testimony starts at 9:00 a.m. The State case will wrap up tomorrow morning. The Defense is expected to present its case starting at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
