(Des Moines, IA) — One-hundred-million dollars in property tax relief is ready for debate in the Iowa Senate. Property tax levies for local governments would see reform under the proposal. After months of discussion, House and Senate GOP leaders reached an agreement yesterday on reform. They say the proposal will be the first of several changes coming to Iowa’s property tax system in the next few years.
