(Atlantic) The Southwest Iowa Transit System is again making it easier for school-age children to get their summer activities.
Mark Lander, Transit Director, says the Summer Bus will offer these services to Atlantic, Glenwood, Harlan, Red Oak, and Shenandoah. The service is open to the public, including persons with disabilities.
Lander says the bus will provide transportation for students up to the 12th grade within two miles of city limits. The Summer Fun Bus starts the day after school is out and runs Monday thru Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Atlantic and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Glenwood, Harlan, Red Oak, and Shenandoah.
The cost is $1.00 each way for a child or $40.00 for an unlimited summer pass. Parents and caregivers wanting to accompany their child ride for free.
You can pay for your student’s rides online or drop off or mail payment to SWITA at 1501 S.W. 7th Street, Atlantic, Iowa, 50022. Families can also register online at swita.com/services/summer-fun-bus/. Or submit the form via email to swita@swipco.org, print it out and mail it, or bring it to the SWITA office.
