(Mills Co) A Glenwood man was injured in a rollover accident in Mills County Tuesday evening.
The Mills County Sheriff’s Office says at approximately 5:39 p.m., Deputies were dispatched to Hilman and Hawley Road where they found a 2015 Jeep overturned in the ditch on the north side of Hawley Road. There were tire marks in the grass indicating that the driver, 31-year-old Zachary Smith, was originally driving southbound on Hilman and attempted to turn westbound onto Hawley Road, but missed and turned westbound before the roadway. The Jeep rolled and the trees in the ditch held Smith in place until emergency services arrived to extract him from the Jeep. The Sheriff’s Office says there was a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle.
EMS transported Smith to UNMC via ground with non-life-threatening injuries.
