(Elk Horn) The Exira-EHK School District’s bus barn in Exira will receive a facelift.
Last week the school board approved a bid of $40,188.30 from Viking Construction. “Viking Construction is going to re-do our bus area facility in Exira to match our weight room and press box instead of the old, white, rusted look. It hasn’t been touched since it was built. So they are going to do that and replace the roof this summer as soon as they can get those materials in. It’s always nice to be able to stay local and help them out.”
In other activity, Superintendent Trevor Miller shares that the district was able to retain staff member Andrea Schwery who had previously accepted a position in Denison. “She is goign to take over TAG and also Computer Science. We are glad we are able to fill that position and she decided to come back.”
A contract was approved for Christina Baggett for MS Special Education. The following resignations were accepted: Doug Newton (Boys Basketball and JH Boys Track Coach), Paula Yates (Food Service), Jennie Irlbeck (Shared District Administrative Assistant), and Jessica Allen (5-12 Band Teacher).
The board alo approved an agreement with Timberline Billing Service LLC and a contract with Green Hills AEA for a School Based Interventionist.
