Patricia Ann “Pat” Wetterlind, age 87, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Friday, April 21, 2023, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Pat was born August 15, 1935, in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of James “Harold” and Blanche (Burdick) Aiken. She graduated from Elliott High School in 1953 and was united in marriage to Donald Wetterlind on December 5, 1954, on the Wetterlind family farm in rural Montgomery County, Iowa. They lived in Red Oak for a short time before moving to the family farm. Over the years, Pat worked for Bell Telephone, Dr. Kenneth Anderson, DDS, and then worked with Don on the family farm. She was a longtime member of Center Ridge Presbyterian Church and currently a member of Red Oak Presbyterian Church. Pat enjoyed bowling, cooking, sewing, playing the piano, singing, and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed the grandkids events. In her younger years she was a good basketball player.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Don Wetterlind; and son-in-law: Bob Drogo. Survivors include her children: Denise Bergren and husband Tom of Villisca, IA; Barb Drogo of Atlantic, IA; Doug Wetterlind and wife Patti of Red Oak, IA; and Mike Wetterlind and wife Cindy of Red Oak, IA; grandchildren: Brandi Wichhart and husband Derk of Creston, IA; Jennifer Rowley and husband Corbin of Saratoga Springs, UT; Angela Lewis of Hickman, NE; Jessica Vu and husband Dudley of Cumming, GA; Matthew Drogo and Stephanie Landsdown of Atlantic, IA; Ashley Mosier and husband Lucas of Atlantic, IA; Anthony Drogo and wife Stephanie of Lewis, IA; David Wetterlind of Naperville, IL; Tami Donovan and Jeremy Dicks of W. Des Moines, IA; Mark Wetterlind and wife Julia of Red Oak, IA; Jacob Wetterlind of Schaumburg, IL; and Ryan Wetterlind of Red Oak, IA; many great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Red Oak Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the Center Ridge Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Monday, April 24, 2023 at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Presbyterian Church.
