(Carson) The Community of Carson is sending its’ thanks to the Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors for supporting the City’s public health and safety efforts and downtown revitalization.
Carson City Administrator Brianne Duede said the Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors invited each community to provide their project initiatives at a board of supervisors meeting late last year. Duede says the Carson City Council identified three initiatives as part of its strategic plan. The first is the new ambulance.
Duede says the second request was continuing with Phase II of the Downtown Revitalization Project by completing the demolition site clearance. This included two of the City’s derelict buildings in the downtown district, also partial funding by a DNR Grant. The final request was to complete a water and sewer extension to serve a multi-partial highway commercial zone on the south side of Highway 92.
The County Board recently approved a $125,000 forgivable loan to purchase a new ambulance. Community members say this will positively impact the Carson Community and surrounding area that utilize its’ ambulance services and visitors in the downtown business district.
