(Griswold) The Griswold School Board on Tuesday approved sharing girls wrestling with Red Oak.
Last season Griswold was one of five schools that made up the SWAT Valkyrie. They become the second school this offseason to exit that co-op, joining SW Valley which will have their own program. Superintendent Dave Henrichs says, “Certainly nothing against our partners with CAM, Atlantic, SW Valley, and Nodaway Valley. We just felt it was a better fit and some relationships had been built previously with our girls that wrestle and the Red Oak district.”
He reports Griswold intends to send two wrestlers to Red Oak next season. “The girls that we have out for wrestling, in essence they are our customers and that was their preference of what they wanted to do. The board agreed to do what they suggested or recommended.”
Remaining schools in the SWAT sharing agreement are Nodaway Valley, CAM, and Atlantic.
