(Washington D.C.) Hubert Hamer, Administrator of the National Agricultural Statistics Service, says NASS is working on the agency’s most extensive collection of data activity, the 2022 Census of Agriculture.
Hamer says it is essential that farmers and ranchers fill out the census collecting the most comprehensive information for and about U.S. agriculture.
Hamer says NASS will collect this information through the end of the spring.
Hamer appeared before a group of farm broadcasters during the NAFB Washington Watch. One of the hurdles is to get farmers and ranchers willing to share more information with the government with the mindset I don’t want to give the government any more information than I have to.
Hamer says once this information is released in February 2024, it will be used for five years.
