(Cass Co) The Cass County Board of Supervisors heard a second presentation this morning from Jared Wyman and Noble Initiative Community Foundation members on an ARPA fund request.
At last week’s meeting, Wyman explained that they will have 17 lots for sale in the City of Griswold for individuals to build homes. But first, they need to get the infrastructure built to keep stormwater out of town. Wyman said the Griswold City Council approved a $500,000 bond to help with infrastructure and they are looking for some financial assistance from the County.
The Supervisors stated that they did not think they could use ARPA funds due to some other things coming down the road.
The board agreed they don’t want to make a hasty decision and end up being reckless with the proceeds they get off of the county farm sale, so they are going gather more information on if their economic development funds can be used for this project.
In other news, the Supervisors approved the appointments of Norma Hemphill to the Southern Iowa Regional Housing Authority and Shauna Holaday as Massena Township Clerk.
The Supervisors also approved a three-year contract, in the amount of $4,450 per year, for Cost Advisory Services to obtain reimbursements for indirect costs expended on behalf of the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services for Cass County.
