(Atlantic) The Atlantic Chamber Ambassadors visited with Carrie Schmitt & Danielle Steinhoff, on Thursday, April 13th, 2023, to kick off Grand Opening celebrations with a ribbon cutting ceremony for their gift shop, Homebody, located in Downtown Atlantic.
Carrie Schmitt, co-owner of Homebody, shared that she never imagined the possibility of owning a retail space while having a full-time career at Cass Health, but with Danielle’s partnership, that dream has become a reality. Carrie sent off a quick text of the idea to Danielle one evening in January, and a few days later the two women and their spouses were starting demolition on the Downtown building. Carrie shared that the name “Homebody” came from Danielle and Carrie’s love for being “homebodies” and the thought that “being a homebody doesn’t have to be boring; they want to spark creativity with fun, eclectic products that add happiness and joy to everyone’s life.” When asked how the duo would describe the items that are carried in the store, the women say the items are a “thoughtfully curated collection of goods that enhance your everyday life.”
Homebody is hosting two days of Grand Opening celebrations starting today, April 14th, 3-8PM that will feature charcuterie boards and cocktails. The Saturday, April 15th, celebration will take place 10AM-6PM and include a permanent jewelry vendor, fresh flower vendor, and IV therapy/Botox vendor. Homebody will have regular business hours of Tuesday through Thursday, 10AM to 6PM, Friday, 10AM to 5PM, and Saturday, 10AM-3PM.
