(Council Bluffs) Lewis Central shot a 322 and captured the team title at Thursday’s home tournament at Fox Run. Atlantic finished second with a 342.
For Atlantic, Tristan Hayes led the Trojans with a 3rd-place 78. Roth Den Beste scored an 85 and finished 10th. Sam Brosam carded an 89, Cruz Weaver, and Tate Niklasen, finished with ’90s, and Hudson McLaren shot 96.
“The wind made for tough playing conditions,” said Atlantic Head Coach Ed Den Beste. Tristan Hayes improved his score by 20 strokes. Roth had a great back nine. He struggled in the wind on several holes on the front but finished with a par and a birdie on holes eight and nine and finished three over par on the back nine.
“Hudson struggled in the wind at times but finished with a par,” said Den Beste. It was good to see Sam continue working on things and finish with an 89. Tate had one of his better scores today and played well for his first time on the course. This is not the team score we needed to win, but it was a good physical and mental experience for us.”
