(Cass Co) Jared Wyman, Board Member of the Noble Initiative Community Foundation, provided and update to the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday on the housing development and infrastructure and stormwater management projects.
Wyman said they will have 17 lots for sale in the City of Griswold for individuals to build homes. But first, they need to get the infrastructure built to keep stormwater out of town. Wyman said the Griswold City Council approved a $500,000 bond to help with infrastructure and they are looking for some financial assistance from the County.
Supervisor Mark O’Brien asked where the excess funding would come from, especially if the county funding request does not get approved.
After some discussion, the Supervisors told Wyman to fill out an ARPA funding request form for the board to consider. The Supervisors will also consider if they can use some of the economic development funding from the land sale.
In other activity, the Supervisors approved a resolution setting the maximum property tax dollars for Fiscal Year 2024 following a public hearing in which there were no comments. The Board set a public hearing on the proposed Fiscal Year 2023 budget for Tuesday, April 25th.
