(Anita) Fire Departments responded to a house fire at 72737 Eastland Road west of Anita at 12:05 this (Wednesday) afternoon.

Steffensen said it looked like the fire might have started as early as 11:30 a.m. The home was a total loss. Around 80 acres or more of land also burned. Â Nobody was home when the fire started. The cause is undetermined at this time.
The Anita Fire Department was assisted by the Wiota, Adair, and Atlantic Fire Departments and some area farmers. Steffensen thanked everyone who helped out on scene.
