(Des Moines) The National Weather is sending several teams to eastern Iowa today to assess the storm damage caused by tornadoes on Friday afternoon. Craig Cogil with the National Weather Service in Des Moines tells KSOM/KS95 News the storm developed along and east of the Interstate 35 corridor.
Cogil says as the storms transitioned into tornadoes as they moved further to the east.
Cogil says the received several reports of damages to houses and outbuildings. He hasn’t heard of reports of injuries at this time.
