(Area) Iowa Central sophomore Taylor McCreedy and Southwestern sophomore Molly Venteicher have been named as Athletes of the Week by the Iowa Community College Athletic Association.
McCreedy, an Atlantic graduate, opened the outdoor season at Wichita State last week with a personal best in the 3000 meter steeplechase. She finished 4th in a time of 11:32.38 which qualified her for the national meet. She also turned in a PR of 2:23.08 in the 800 to place 7th. McCreedy tossed the javelin 26.60 meters.
CAM grad Molly Venteicher competed last weekend at Grand View. She placed 2nd in the javelin with a mark of 34.12 meters. A PR came in the hammer throw at 37.85 meters. Her 12.10 meters in the shot put placed her 4th. Venteicher threw 32.10 meters in the discus.
