(Des Moines) The Iowa Girl’s High School Coaches Association all-star weekend basketball series is set for April 1 and April 2 at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. Three games will be played on Saturday and one game on Sunday.
The area athletes selected for the series are; Avery Dowling of Sidney 1A White squad; Shay Burmeister, Exira/EHK; Emily Williams, East Mills; Jenna Stephens, Stanton, Kara Hohertz, Earlham, Paige Klocke, Glidden-Ralston, and Nicole Sherer of Woodbine are on the 1A Gray team, coached by Tom Petersen of Exira/EHK. Quinn Grubbs of Exira/EHK is a member of the 1A Select Team.
Catherine Mayhall of Kuemper, Mabel Langel, IKM/Manning, and Tegan Streit of Mount Ayr, are on the 2A White Team, Greylan Hornbeck and Mya Moss, both from Logan-Magnolia, are members of the 2A Gray Team, and Clara Tiegland of Treynor is on the Select Squad.
Jada Jensen of Atlantic is on the 3A White Team, Jenna Hopp of Glenwood is on the 3A,4A, and 5A Select White Squad, Emily Pomernackas of Council Bluffs, Abraham Lincoln is playing on the 4A/5A Gray Team. Creston’s Doryn Paup is a 4A/5A White Team member.
The games start at noon and Saturday.
