(Des Moines, IA) — Frustration is bubbling up from Iowa’s ethanol industry about a pause in year-round sales of E-15. Monte Shaw with the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association is among those who are unhappy.
The E-P-A is approving year-round sales of E-15, but not until 2024. Shaw says the industry will likely push for an emergency waiver to allow year-round sales this year due to the war in Ukraine. Eight states, led by Iowa, have been pushing the E-P-A to allow year-round sales of the higher ethanol-blended fuel.
