(Area) Widespread rain fell overnight, and forecasters are calling for isolated thunderstorms this morning over southern and eastern Iowa. The probability of severe weather is low; however, unseasonably high rainfall accumulations will lead to ponding water and modest rises on area streams and rivers early this week. Strong northwest winds will develop today, with gusts of 30-40 miles per hour this afternoon.
