(Ames, IA) — A study is underway to help Iowa snow plow drivers see and be seen better.
That’s Tina Greenfield, with Iowa DOT. Researchers are testing out different LED lighting packages. The DOT is also working on better windshield wipers for their trucks. One gizmo shakes off ice from the blades. Another system squirts warm de-icer onto the windshield, to melt freezing rain and sleet.
