(Harlan) The Harlan City Council this week passed the first reading of an ordinance amendment to no parking zones in a highly congested traffic area near the school. The City Council discussed the changes at the last City Council meeting.
Harlan City Administrator Gene Gettys says the no parking ordinance amendment is safety driven brought forth by the school. Gettys says this excludes the summer months.
The changes include no parking on the east side of 19th Street, between Durant Street and Willow Street, between 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during the school calendar year.
