(Griswold) A familiar face will be on the sideline for Griswold football, but in a bigger role.
Former assistant coach Seth Lembke’s hire as head coach was approved Monday by the school board. “Seth had been working as an assistant coach under Andy Everett and then left for a couple of years. He came back and was an assistant last year and we are going to move him up to the head job.”
AD Troy Nicklaus says there were five candidates. “We were very happy with them. We had five people apply for it and we interviewed three. Seth turned out to be the top candidate for our job so we offered it to him and he took it.”
Nicklaus admits Lembke’s prior knowledge of Griswold football was a plus. “It helped big time that the kids know him. We have a good sophomore class and we have some kids coming up. Seth was familiar with the program and how Griswold operates and I think he’s going to be a great fit.”
Previous head Chase Wallace spent three seasons at the helm for the Tigers.
