Jacobe followed suit with a pin in 3:04 over (31-5) Aiden McFadden, of Baxter. The quarterfinal foe for Jacobe will be #1 (48-0) Wyatt Smith, of Lisbon.

The Cougars had a 2-0 first round with a 13-9 victory for Brian South at 160 and a major decision for Owen Hoover at 170. South faced 10th rated Connor Timm, of Belle Plaine, in the 2nd round and lost by fall. Hoover dropped an 8-0 major decision against 2nd rated Jack Clarahan, of Sigourney-Keota. On Thursday morning South will oppose (34-9) Kadyn Kraklio, of Durant. Hoover’s consolation 2nd round opponent will be (22-20) Hayden Huen, of Underwood.

The Vikings got a marquee win from 220 pounder Henry Lund. He pinned #4 Logan Wright, of West Branch, in the 2nd round. Lund also had a :41 pin in the first round. He’ll match up with #8 (39-4) Spencer Kessel, of Louisa Muscatine, on Thursday morning. Kayden Baxter grabbed an early 4-0 lead in his 160 pound first round match, but eventually fell 9-8.

Freshman Heavyweight RJ Dishong was pinned by 9th rated Gage Jorgenseon, of Emmetsburg in the 1st round. He’ll draw Nodaway Valley/O-M’s 11th ranked Trent Warner on Thursday.

Warner lost a 9-7 decision to West Sioux’s 8th rated Keegan McMillan. #6 Honnold meets (35-3) Nathan Beitz, of Maquoka Valley, in the quarters.
