(Denison) Iowa Patrol Trooper and District #4 Public Resource Officer Shelby McCreedy, appearing on the KSOM Morning Show, talks about four things motorists may not be aware of when licensing plate violations.
Trooper McCreedy says the state of Iowa issues two plates per vehicle, and vehicle owners are legally required to use both plates, on the front and back bumper, not inside the car.
Another issue is registration stickers. McCreedy says even though a vehicle’s registration is current, it is still a violation not to have the registration sticker attached to the rear license plate. It is also illegal in Iowa to have license plate frames.
McCreedy says rule number #4, keep the license plates clean and legible. She says motorists can be pulled over for a dirty license plate.
