(Atlantic) The Cass County Local Food Policy Council says a mobile food pantry will travel to Anita, Atlantic, and Massena this month.
The mobile food pantry delivers food directly to families in need for a one-day distribution free of charge. Anyone in need is welcome and requires no documentation. People from surrounding communities are also welcome to attend. Each vehicle can take food for up to two households. Those families without transportation can contact Cass County Wellness Coordinator Brigham Hoegh about a delivery offered n a limited basis.
According to the press release, the mobile pantry will be at the Cass County Community Center from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, April 12, and October 11. The Mobile Food will also be at the Atlantic High School on June 14, July 12, and August 9.
The Mobile Food Pantry will be at the Anita Food Pantry at 208 Chestnut Street from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on February 15, May 17, August 16, and October 18.
It is essential to note people wanting to pick up food at the Massena Mobile Food Pantry must pre-register two days before. The Mobile Pantry will be at Southwest Iowa Egg Coop near Massena from 4:45 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. on February 8, April 12, June 14, July 12, August 9, and October 11. People must register for these pantries in Massena two days before by calling 712-779-3447.
