(Washington, DC) More than a dozen states have passed laws that ban foreign entities from buying farmland, including Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin. Now, the U.S. Congress may consider a bill to make it a nationwide ban. U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra of Iowa says the goal isn’t to stop all foreign investors, but to better food and national security.
