Hayden Drake Hoffmann, age 20, of Oakland, IA, died January 28, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born on January 16, 2003, to Heidi (Nilan) Weilage and Harold Hoffmann Jr., in Omaha, NE.
Hayden grew up in Glenwood, where he graduated from Glenwood High School with the class of 2022. While in school, he was a member of the football team, wrestling team, and had been involved in the band until his freshman year. Hayden had the biggest heart and passion for the things and people in his life, and he always stood up for the underdog. He was loved by all that knew him.
Hayden loved fishing, hunting, farming, working cattle, and working on his truck. He had just recently fixed up his 1999 Ford 250. Everyone told Hayden it wouldn’t run again, but he proved them all wrong. He loved that truck and his dog, Hank. He especially loved spending time hanging out and playing games with his friends and family. He was always up for a good game of cribbage, chess, or card game. Hayden enjoyed working at the Denison Livestock Auction and Cowboy Pool and Spa. He was also working on starting a new company that would detect pool leaks.
Hayden is preceded in death by his grandpa Harold Hoffmann, Sr., and his grandpa Bill Weilage.
He is survived by his parents Heidi (Troy) Weilage of Malvern, IA, and Harold Hoffmann Jr. of Oakland, IA; his grandparents, Gary and Merry Beth Nilan of Oakland, IA, Bonnie Hoffmann of Hancock, IA, and Bonnie Weilage of Council Bluffs, IA; his siblings, Holden (Catherine) Hoffmann of Oakland, IA, and Hunter Hoffmann of Oakland, IA; step-siblings, Danae (Eric) Gleason of Ankeny, IA, Jake Weilage of Glenwood, IA, Haley (Josh) Fields of Griswold, IA, and Sierra Weilage of Griswold, IA; his nephews and nieces: Wacey, River, Aleah, Levi, Adalynn, William, and Lillian; his aunts and uncles: Robin (Kyle) Bennett of Schaller, IA, Missy (Kyle) Whitfield of Nowata, OK, Patricia Hoffmann of Des Moines, IA, Monica (Pat) Martin of Avoca, IA, Shad Weilage of Polk City, IA; and many cousins, and friends.
