(Anita) Friday night on KSOM the CAM boys basketball team hosts Exira-EHK.
The Cougars fell 73-71 in two overtimes against the Spartans back on December 9th. “We need to play defense and rebound the ball and take good care of it on offense. We can’t turn it over. We have to use every chance we have to score.”
Coach Ian Hunt’s squad has won five of their past seven games. He comments on the improvements made in this stretch. “I think just consistently getting everyone on the floor. We have to keep getting minutes together. Keep improving on that and taking care of the ball.”
CAM takes a 6-5 overall record into Friday’s contest. “When we are at our best we have a lot of guys who can score the ball. We’ve been pretty solid in our half court defense. We have a ton of potential.”
Coach Hunt comments on the rivalry aspect of this matchup with Exira-EHK. “It’s always fun playing. You know your going to get a good game. A lot of these kids know each other. It adds to the energy and intensity of the game. It’s always fun to play in and be a part of.”
Seth Hensley is averaging a team high 15.5 points per game for CAM. Sam Foreman contributes 13.9 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. Another double digit scorer is sophomore Chase Jahde at 13.6 points per contest.
