(Audubon) Michael Turner scored 12 first half points to get Tri-Center off to a solid start and the Trojans downed Audubon 56-22 on Friday night.
A 3-pointer from Carson Bauer gave Audubon an early lead, but Turner matched him with a deep triple. Ken Elliott’s back-to-back interior baskets followed as part of a 7-0 Tri-Center stretch to grab the lead for good.
The Trojans held an 11-5 advantage after one quarter and got some breathing room early in the 2nd frame. Turner canned another deep 3-pointer plus Christian Dahir contributed a pair of offensive rebounds and put backs. Tri-Center went from leading 13-9 to leading 24-9 in quick fashion. They held a 26-13 cushion at the break.
Audubon hung around in the 3rd quarter, thanks in large part to strong drives to the hoop from Carson Bauer. Bauer had 8 of his 12 points after halftime. Tri-Center led 36-20 after three quarters.
Turner led the way with 21 points, Dahir scored 12, and Kent Elliott 10. A 20-2 4th quarter ballooned the final margin to 56-22.
Tri-Center improves to 8-4 on the season and Audubon is 4-8.
