(Omaha) Creighton University Economist Ernie Goss says the region and nation’s economy are slowing down. Goss says higher interest rates from the Federal Reserve and other economic issues are causing the slowdown.
Dr. Goss says on the flip side, job growth continues to expand. That’s good news, but for the Federal Reserve, it’s terrible news.
Dr. Goss says inflation must come down to stabilize the economy. He says the Feds are seeing too much inflation pressure.
Dr. Goss predicts a slow and weakening start for the first half of 2023. He expects the Fed to raise interest rates by another quarter of a percent in February.
