(Exira) Exira has a new city clerk.
Meg Andersen’s hire was approved on Wednesday by the City Council. Mayor Mike Huegerich says she comes with a variety of experience. “They moved back to the area in July. She’s had a lot of different jobs and was looking for something new. She had a lot of experience in the medical field and was trying to get out of that.”
Andersen rose to the top of a list of six candidates, which was narrowed down to three finalists. “We interviewed three and we decided to pick her. The top three you could almost put their names in a hat and pick them out. They were all really well qualified.”
Lexi Christensen’s last day on the job was Friday. She held the post for the previous 6.5 years. “She got her accounting degree and she is moving on to work in Des Moines for the State of Iowa as an accountant.”
Huegerich says Christensen leaves on good terms and will be able to help answer questions as needed.
