(Anita) The CAM boys basketball team has three wins and three losses at the holiday break.
The Cougars have defeated Ar-We-Va, Boyer Valley, and Coon Rapids-Bayard. Their losses are to West Harrison, Exira-EHK, and Woodbine. Two of the three setbacks have been two point games. CAM boys basketball coach Ian Hunt says, “I think the biggest thing is how much we’ve grown. Especially we’ve been in a lot of tight games and how much we’ve grown in late game situations.”
Sophomore Chase Jahde has provided a big lift for the Cougars with his scoring average at 17 points per game. “We expected this from him. We saw glimpses of it last year and then all summer league. We knew he was a good basketball player.”
Seniors Sam Foreman and Seth Hensley are the other main scoring threats for CAM. Foreman posts 17.2 points, and 10.3 rebounds per game. Hensley is at 15.5 points and shoots 88.2% from the free-throw line. “Just a lot of consistency. We know what they are going to bring to the floor. Two great guys with leadership that work hard. Good to have those guys out on the floor with a lot of younger guys that don’t have a ton of varsity experience yet.”
CAM has three straight road games upon returning to action. They’ll be at Glidden-Ralston on Tuesday at SW Valley next Thursday, and at Woodbine January 10th.
