(Atlantic) The Atlantic Wrestling team gets an extended break after the Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont duals were called off on Friday due to the adverse weather conditions. The loss of this competition followed the postponement of the double dual at Kuemper with Lewis Central and Atlantic.
Coach Duff says the team will return to the room on Wednesday, December 28. Duff says they will pick up their level of intensity and keep drilling.
Brenden Casey, wrestling in the upper weights, enters the holiday break with a 15-4 record.
Others leading the way are Evan Sorensen, 12-5, Taye Jordan, 12-6, Aidan Smith, 12-6, and Easton O’Brien, 11-6, one win away from the 100-win milestone. Jarrett Armstrong is 11-9 and picked up his 100th win at the Council Bluffs Classic Tournament. Miles Mundorf is 10-2.
The Trojans are ranked 11th in the IWCOA rankings for Regional Dual determination. The top eight-ranked team’s host.
The Trojans start the second half of the season with a Quad at OABCIG on January 3, a Double-dual against Kuemper, Harlan, and Denison at Denison on January 5, and the Trojans host the Rollin Dyer Tournament on Saturday, January 7.
