(Atlantic) The Atlantic Police and Reserves and six other agencies spent part of their Sunday afternoon providing families with a memorable Christmas. Atlantic Police Chief Devin Hogue tells KSOM/KS95 News twenty-five people on Sunday helped 37 children “Shop with a Cop” at the Atlantic Walmart.
The agencies represented included the Atlantic Police, Reserves, Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, Iowa Department of Transportation, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Southwest Iowa Chaplains Association, Cass County Communications Center, two retirees from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, and Iowa State Patrol, gathered at Atlantic Walmart.
On Saturday, the Atlantic Police Department and Police Reserves hosted their annual “Family Dreams Christmas.”
Chief Hogue says the program served 13 complete families; eight went shopping and received a Christmas meal. Five went through the toy room and received a Christmas meal.
