(Atlantic) Scammers are calling and claiming to be law enforcement. They may state that you have a warrant. They may also claim to be with a federal law enforcement agency. They may also have some personal information about you.
No law enforcement agency will call you and require money to get out of charges over the phone. Do not give bank accounts or your credit card info, do not transfer money from your account to an account they provide, do not go purchase gift cards, etc.
If you are in question of being scammed, call the agency directly by looking up the number yourself; otherwise, contact your local bank and speak to a banker. They will also be able to advise you if it is a scam.
