Marlynn was born on May 21, 1947, in Oskaloosa, Iowa to Thomas and Naomi (Schrader) Burgett. She was employed for many years with Wellmark in Des Moines. Anyone who crossed paths with Marlynn could speak of her compassion. She was a person who always had a desire to make the lives of others better. Whether it was a shopping trip for a person in need or donating her time, Marlynn would never shy away from helping. Even after a person passed away, flowers from Marlynn could be found on their grave. She loved to embroider, quilt, and do crafts in her free time. Marlynn loved sports; whether it was the Chiefs or Carlisle softball, she enjoyed relaxing and watching a game. Marlynn’s kindness and compassion will be missed by many. Marlynn is survived by her children, Ronda (Les) Dorsey and Jason Hall; siblings, Carol Vogel, Thomas Burgett, Cheryl Burgett, and LeAnn Dass; grandchildren, Lyle (Caitlin) Dorsey, Paige (Josh) Wilcox, and Kyle Johnson; great-grandchildren, Chance Johnson, JaDi Johnson, Hadleigh Dorsey, and Cameron Johnson; nieces and nephews, Matt (Crystal) Hall, Elizabeth (Steve) Klute, Christine (Scott) Karstens, Nicole (Jimmy) Coey, David (Colleen) Ross, Bob (Jeane) Ross, and Kristin (Thomas) Vrieze, and many other great-nieces, nephews, and friends. She also leaves behind her dog, Jocyee. Marlynn was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Ronald Hall. Memorials in Marlynn’s name can be made to the Carlisle Library Foundation.
