(Atlantic) The Cass County Board of Supervisors this morning agreed to meet with two of their top real-estate candidates on Friday to discuss the sale of the county-owned farm.

The Supervisors decided to interview Property Connection Real Estate and Farmers National during an open meeting beginning at 9:00 a.m. The board will try to drill down specific costs and make a final decision on who will handle the sale of the county-owned farm. The board is looking to hold the auction in mid to late December.
The county-owned farm includes the old Willow Heights building, approximately 115 acres of row crop ground and approximately 35 acres of pasture ground.
In other activity, the Supervisors agreed to use Opioid Recovery funds in an amount of $6,400 to host a mental health class for police and sheriff’s department personnel in Atlantic in March. The funds will be transferred to Zion to administer the program.
The Supervisors also approved the resignation of Conservation Board member Phil Przychodzin and the appointment of Blaine Behnken as a replacement.
