(Council Bluffs) The Council Bluffs Police Department has identified the driver involved in a fatal accident early Sunday morning as 32-year-old Darian Davis of Lincoln, Nebraska.
At approximately 4:10 a.m., Officers were dispatched to the 50-mile marker of I-29 northbound for a vehicle fire. When officers and fire personnel arrived on scene, the vehicle was fully engulfed. The flames were extinguished by fire department personnel. The vehicle appeared to have struck a sign pole on the side of the road and then split apart, causing a large debris field. Officers located one deceased person inside the front half of the vehicle.
The investigation revealed that speed was a factor in the crash.
