(Anita) CAM travels to Lenox in the round of sixteen on Friday night. The Cougars advanced with a 58-38 win over Baxter, and Lenox topped Colo-Nesco, 66-14.
CAM Head Coach Barry Bower says his team showed resiliency against a good Baxter squad and is looking forward to moving on to round two.
CAM balances out the running and passing game quite nicely. The Cougars piled up 1,629 yards passing and 1,696 yards rushing.
Coach Bower says Lenox is well-coached, with a solid offensive line, who understands the schemes. The Tigers are a run-heavy offense with 2,459 yards rushing compared to 585-yards passing. Isaac Grundman leads the team in rushing, averaging 10.0 yards per carry for 1,123 yards and 26 touchdowns. Keigan Kitzman, 647 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Coach Bower says his ballclub must tackle well to slow down theĀ Lenox ball carriers whose yards after contact is impressive.
Both teams have forced their share of turnovers. CAM snagged 13-passes so far this season and recovered six fumbles. The Tigers have gobbled up ten fumbles and picked off 16-passes.
Keigan Kitzman and Dalton Kitzman lead the Tigers on defense with 67 and 61 tackles. Jack Follman leads CAM with 79.5 tackles, Gabe Rouse 67.5, and Austin Williams 51.
