Padilla makes season debut in Iowa loss to Ohio State

(Columbus, OH) Iowa dropped a 54-10 contest at #2 Ohio State on Saturday.

Iowa used two quarterbacks and neither had a big day. Spencer Petras was 6/14 for 49 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions. Alex Padilla completed 5/10 passes for 32 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception. The rushing attack produced just 77 yards.

The Hawkeyes only trip to the end zone came on a Joe Evans fumble recovery to give the visitors a 7-3 lead early in the 1st quarter. Iowa falls to 3-4. They will host 1-6 Northwestern next week.

Ohio State’s CJ Stroud passed for 286 yards and four touchdowns. The Buckeyes are 7-0.
