(Audubon) Audubon travels north to face St. Mary’s-Remsen in a first-round 8-player playoff game on Friday night. The Wheelers enter the contest with a 4-5 record; the Hawks are 8-0.
Audubon Head Coach Sean Birks is proud of the resiliency of this team.
Birks says St. Mary’s – Remsen is a familiar opponent in post-season play. They matched up in 2017, 2018, twice in 2019, 2020, and here again in 2022.
Coach Birks says the Hawks have dominated the competition, averaging 60-points per game while allowing an average of four points per contest. St. Mary’s-Remsen quarterback Cael Ortmann has completed 82.7 percent of his passes for 1,117 yards, 19 touchdowns, and just one interception.
The Wheelers bring a solid ground attack into the contest, averaging 5.6 yards per carry for 1,938 yards. Audubon quarterback Aaron Olsen has rushed for 1,130 yards and thrown for 619 yards and eight touchdowns.
The kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.
